Meet Our Vessel & Guide
Three Boats. One Standard.
When you book with Barra Private Tours, you’re not just booking a boat — you’re booking into a crew. Our fleet runs three vessels, each helmed by a guide with over a decade of experience reading NT water, and all built to the same premium standard: 6m+ Australian-grade hulls, powerful outboards, advanced navigation, and LiveScope fish-finding technology for when the barra go quiet and you need to see what they’re not showing you.
We didn’t build this fleet to cut corners — we built it so more anglers can get on the water during our busiest season, without ever settling for a lesser experience. Same capacity. Same standard of care. Same NT knowledge running deep in every guide’s blood. What changes is the flavour of expertise each guide brings to your day on the water.
Floran — Lead Guide, Barra Private Tours

Guide: Floran
Floran is where it all started. As our primary guide, he’s spent years dialling in the runoff barra bite in the Mary River system and reading Darwin Harbour’s moods through every tide change. If you’ve seen our socials, chances are it’s Floran’s hookups you’ve been watching.
Want Floran specifically? Just let us know in your booking enquiry and we’ll check his availability and lock you in. High season books out fast, so the earlier you flag it, the better your chances.
Our Contract Guides
Behind Floran are two equally seasoned local guides — each running a boat matched to the same spec, and each bringing their own edge to the trip. Between the three of them, our crew carries decades of combined experience across barramundi, reef, crabbing, and remote billabong fishing throughout the Top End. Some lean harder into aggressive runoff barra tactics, others have a sharper read on reef structure and bluewater conditions during the dry — but all of them fish NT waters the way locals do: patiently, sharply, and with an instinct for where the fish are hiding that you don’t get from a chart.

Guide: Rob & Tom
Booking with a partner guide means the same relentless focus on putting you onto fish — often with more flexibility on dates when Floran’s book is full.
Why Three Boats Matters to You
More boats on the water means more spots open during peak dry season demand — without compromising quality. Whether you land with Floran or one of our partner guides, you’re fishing with a crew that trains together, shares intel, and holds itself to the same standard on every single charter.
