Fishing is a must-do activity for anyone coming to Darwin!
Come join us for a safe, exciting day out on the water! Our professional and experienced guide will begin with safety briefing and take you to the right spot that offer the greatest success, according to the tide and season. Hop aboard for an unforgettable experience!
When you reach your first location, your guide will provide you all the instruction and support needed to learn the different skills. Both casting and trolling might be part of your day.
The fish you catch can be kept or released at your choice. Many guests like to keep and take their catch home with them. If so, we’ll clean and fillet for you to take home. Please note that our crew strictly complies by fishing rules in the Northern Territory.
Full-day private charters spend a full 8 hours on the water using techniques including trolling, casting hard body lures, and casting soft plastics. Based on tide conditions, our guide will choose the best plan to target different species across two charter styles:
- Remote & 4WD – 10-11 hours trip
Head off the beaten track to remote region, combining a 4WD adventure with a full day of fishing in pristine surroundings โ embrace the nature, fishing, and spot wildlife including crocodiles and abundant wild birds. - Darwin Harbour – 8 hours trip
Spend most of your energy on the fishing with a full day on the waters of Darwin Harbour, offering easy access and a variety of species on offer depending on the tide.
On the way home, our guide will clean or fillet your catch and bag it up for you to take home!
Perfect for small groups โ couples, friends, and families are all welcome.
Shared Charter โ Minimum & Maximum Numbers
Minimum: 3 passengers | Maximum: 4 passengers
Our trips are designed to run with at least 3 guests. If the minimum number is not met, the trip may need to be cancelled or rescheduled.
However, if you still wish to proceed, we can run the charter with fewer guests for a small additional fee per person to meet the minimum launch cost.
To cover fuel and labour costs, a minimum booking valueย is required for all shared charters.
This option allows you to lock in your date with the understanding that the charter may operate as either a shared or private experience, depending on final passenger numbers.

Three Boats. One Standard.
When you book with Barra Private Tours, you’re not just booking a boat โ you’re booking into a crew. Our fleet runs three vessels, each helmed by a guide with over a decade of experience reading NT water, and all built to the same premium standard: 6m+ Australian-grade hulls, powerful outboards, advanced navigation, and LiveScope fish-finding technology for when the barra go quiet and you need to see what they’re not showing you.
We didn’t build this fleet to cut corners โ we built it so more anglers can get on the water during our busiest season, without ever settling for a lesser experience. Same capacity. Same standard of care. Same NT knowledge running deep in every guide’s blood. What changes is the flavour of expertise each guide brings to your day on the water.
