As 2025 draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank every follower, guest, supporter, and returning legend who stepped aboard with Barra Private Tours this year. What a season it’s been — from those begin of year fishing season to the end of year fishing sessions — 2025 has truly been one for the books.

A Runoff Fishing Season to Remember

The year kicked off with a bang during the Runoff. We had an absolute blast watching so many anglers tick off the bucket-list dream: their first metre-plus barramundi.

Those early-season missions into remote NT waters delivered the full wild Top End experience — big fish, big smiles, and that unbeatable thrill of watching the country come alive after the Wet. It’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do.

Dry Season Good Times

Then came the busy Dry Season — cool mornings, glassy water, and boatloads of good vibes.

Based in the heart of Darwin City, we welcomed every clients from local, interstate even overseas or complete beginners to advanced fishos. Our one-on-one sessions with first-timers were especially rewarding, helping brand-new anglers build confidence and walk away with stories they couldn’t wait to share with their mates.

Our small-group charters were packed with laughs, teamwork, and that magic moment when someone yells “FISH ON!” and the whole boat lights up.

Build-Up Season Magic & Returning Legends

As temperatures rose, so did the action. The Build-Up gave us so many unforgettable moments — especially seeing returning clients join us again for multi-day charters with their best mates or families.
And at the end of the day? Guests heading home with a full bag of fish and crabs… how good is that!

These adventures felt less like tours and more like fishing with old mates. Big tides, wild scenery, massive crocodiles cruising by, close encounters with billabong beasts, and an incredible mix of river and reef species — impossible to fully describe.

Just awe. Pure Northern Territory magic.

Our Heartfelt Thanks

To everyone who joined us in 2025 — thank you.

Your support keeps our small Top End operation thriving, and every shared moment on the water means the world to us. Whether it was your first trip with us or your tenth, we’re grateful for every cast, every laugh, every sunrise start, and every photo with your new PB.

What’s Coming in 2026

Even though we’re signing off for the year, the excitement isn’t slowing down. Behind the scenes, we’re deep into maintenance, upgrades, and planning to ensure smooth, safe, unforgettable adventures when we reopen in February 2026.

We’re also teaming up with more local tour operators to create even more unique NT travel experiences and language services in Mandarin & French.

New locations, new adventures, new stories to tell — and we can’t wait to show you more of this incredible Territory.

Stay Safe This Cyclone Season

With the Wet settling in and cyclone season upon us, we hope everyone stays safe, rests up, and enjoys the festive season with family and friends.

Recharge, reset, and get ready — because 2026 is shaping up to be another incredible year on the water.

All that early rain soaking the floodplains is exactly what we want heading into 2026. It’s setting us up for a cracking Runoff, with the big girls already starting to move in early.
